ROYAL SCHOOL - Haslemere
Boarding Activities Programme

OFSTED Report

BOARDING

The Royal School is a day and boarding school with approximately one third of girls boarding. Full boarding is a popular option with the lively programme of weekend activities also open to day girls.

The family atmosphere encompasses the whole School. Parents who visit the School for the first time often comment on the warm welcome they receive from girls and staff and Ofsted recently rated the School's boarding provision as 'Outstanding'.

In an emotionally safe environment girls are encouraged to be adventurous intellectually and personally, improving their lives and the lives of others. The School equips them for a challenging future. Articulate, compassionate and courageous, The Royal School girl is well prepared.

There are two boarding houses; Stoatley for 7 - 15 year olds and QEII for the Sixth Form. We have a Head of Boarding and each house has a Senior Housemistress with a number of other staff who support her. House meetings happen weekly with all boarders and boarding staff are always on hand to offer encouragement and advice.

If parents' domestic and professional life is a juggling act or girls wish to stay late after a club, we also offer flexi or weekly boarding: supper, bed, breakfast and designated supervised prep time which ensures the work gets done.

For those boarders whose parents regularly visit or live overseas we require a nominated guardian in the UK. We recommend short stay and European boarders also have a UK based guardian.
